Architecture: (for those who haveto know)
iControl WebStudioTM is programmed using Macromedia Cold Fusion®. It uses an object-based paradigm, within an open system that allows you to plan and design your objects, methods, and properties quickly and easily. Each "object" in the system has common services that can be used for functionality, such as logging, granting permissions, and supporting data and users. Since every object is stored in a SQL Server® database, iControl can display objects, differently—depending the service requested. Customizing iControl and scaling it to accommodate to ever-changing business needs is easy and does not require a complete overhaul of the system.
The product was developed through an iterative process of providing common functionality over and over again in real-world, web-based applications over the past 12 years. Most of the code that makes up iControl WebStudioTM has actually been progressed for the last fifteen years. iControl WebStudioTM took all the components (Modules and Custom CF Tags) created by ILGM and rolled them into a modularized product that allows an application to be built at a very rapid rate. With iControl WebStudioTM the business user doesn't have to be aware of, or need to know how to design and program foundational functionality. It requires very few changes and can easily be adapted to your current business practices quickly and efficiently.
iControl WebStudioTM uses the Site Defaults Module to create a new site. This site can be based on any other site you may have previously created (in or out of the system). It allows reuse of an entire application with full customization capability. You can import business logic into one site, and then easily replicate that logic to any other site. The new sites will automatically inherit the look and feel of the base site. iControl separates business logic from presentation.
